Organizer
The 2010 Veterans World Fencing Championships will be organized by the Croatian Fencing Federation with the support of the Plava Laguna Company and the Town of Poreč, under the auspices and authority of the Fédération Internationale d’Escrime (FIE).
Place and Date
The Championships will be held in the Intersport Centre of the PLAVA LAGUNA company in Poreč/Croatia from 28 September to 3 October 2010.
Accreditation
Participants will have to present the following documents at the time of accreditation: Passport, FIE license 2009/2010, medical certificate (attesting the aptitude of the participants to practice fencing in competition) and discharge of responsibility (signed letter on the day of the accreditation).

Events
The following Championship events will take place:
Foil, Epee and Sabre
1. Category A : 50 to 59 years of age on 1 September 2010
2. Category B : 60 to 69 years of age on 1 September 2010
3. Category C : 70 years of age and more on 1 September 2010
Entries
The number of entries per federation is limited to 4 participants per country, weapon and age group. Entry Form by number must be sent to the Organizing Committee by the national federation of each participant until 1 August 2010 Entries must be submitted on the registration forms, which will be available at the following web address after 1 February 2010: http://www.fencingveterans2010.com/ and sent per e-mail crofencing@hi.t-com.hr or fax : ++385 1 3 099 201 to the Croatian Fencing Federation until 6 September 2010 According to the FIE, the entry fee is 55 Euros per participant and per one kind of weapon. The entry fee is to be paid on the day of the accreditation.
Prizes
1. FIE medals for the winners in each category
2. Gold, silver and two bronze medals, as well as diplomas, for each category
3. Special gift of the organizer for each category
Formula
Pools of 6 or 7 fencers, bouts of 5 hits of 3 minutes. After the pools, direct elimination in 10 hits, 2 rounds of 3 minutes, with one minute pause between each round.
Sabre: 1 minute pause after 5 hits.
If there are fewer than 10 fencers in a category : Single pool.
Referees
Participating delegations must be accompanied by the number of A, B, referees provided for by article o.81 of the rules : 1 to 4 fencers : No obligation, 5 to 9 fencers: 1 referee, 10 of more fencers: 2 referees. Should a national federation not bring the required number of referees article o.81.3 of the FIE Organisation Rules will be applied. The organizers will supply all referees with drinks and refreshments.
Equipment of Fencers
The personal equipment of the fencers must comply with the FIE rules. A control of the equipment will take place the day before each of the competition events. FIE uniform and equipment regulations for World Championships apply : FIE Blades, Uniform, Names, etc...
Transparent masks are not allowed at foil and épée.
